Spiritual Gifts:Covet the best gifts
Scripture📖: 1Cor 12:28-31a

TGIF-Thank GOD It’s Friday!
Decree this out loud before you step out today in JESUS Name,
I decree today is a tipping point for me and my household into abundant favour in Jesus name. Amen.
Yesterday we said,
If the tongue is not interpreted it only benefits the speaker.
Today we will take a quick look at how to receive a gift.
There are two main ways we receive gifts:
1. As a surprise, where you don’t know what you are getting
and…….

2. Where you know what you are getting because you have earnestly desired it by pestering the giver to give you what you desire(Children are experts at that).

The HOLY SPIRIT can decide to surprise you with a gift.
For me HE surprised me with my tongues, teaching and prophetic giftings. For others they may have received their giftings because they earnestly desired it.
Not everybody will be a Prophet. Not everybody will speak in tongues (though we all have the potential to do so).
YOU SEE WE DON’T ALWAYS GET THE GIFT WE WANT.

In 1Cor 12:28-31a Paul tells us as much when he says,
➡And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts…………………….⬅

The word Covet here is translated from the Greek word Zeloo which means in a good sense, to be zealous in the pursuit of good to desire earnestly, pursue. There are many giftings that are a manifestation of the HOLY SPIRIT in you but the best are the ones Paul drew our attention to earlier.
What Paul is saying here is, be open to manifest anyone, any combination of, or all of these gifts as the HOLY SPIRIT transforms you.
A gift or gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT is coming to you either by surprise or by earnestly desiring it with zeal.
Either way you will be transformed by HIM in JESUS Name.
GOD willing we will continue tomorrow.

There are two main ways we receive gifts by surprise or by earnestly coveting them.

Prayer🙏 FATHER, surprise we with a gift of the HOLY SPIRIT in this month otherwise give me the gift I earnestly desire in JESUS Name. Amen.
