UPPER HAND Through JESUS Part 3,
JESUS Gives You Power To Gain The UPPER HAND
Scripture📖:2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

Thank GOD Its Tuesday!
Yesterday we ended by saying,
Through the authority given to you by JESUS you have the legal right to gain the UPPER HAND over the devil himself and all his agents.
Today we continue with UPPER HAND Through JESUS Part 3 by the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT.
A many years ago the HOLY SPIRIT helped me understand that there is a difference between authority and power. Like I did before then, many Christians believe they are one and the same but indeed they are not.
The evidence of your authority is the successful use of the power invested in you.
Without authority you may have power but will not be able to use it.
What is power? If I remember my A’level physics notes very well it is the rate of doing work.
For today’s devotion the HOLY SPIRIT led me to 2Timothy 1:7 in which the Bible says,
➡️7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and of love and of a sound mind.⬅️
The word power here is translated from the Greek word dunamis which means the Power residing in God by virtue of His Divine nature.
This includes creative power, destructive power, the power to make something out of nothing, time stopping power, power over money, power over elements and all that is created and the power to give and take life.
Dunamis is power to do.
So when police are knocking on your door the badge/uniform is the authority(exousia).
The gun the police carries and the power to arrest is dunamis.
Now if the same One who gives us authority over the enemy and his agents, has also given us the POWER, then indeed we have what it takes to have the UPPER HAND over anyone or anything who is against us anytime and anywhere.
YOU HAVE BEEN LEGALLY EMPOWERED TO HAVE THE UPPER HAND.
Let this simmer in your spirit for today.

💭Thought of the day
The same One who gives us authority over the enemy and his agents, has also given us the POWER.

Prayer🙏 FATHER, I thank you that in addition to the authority, you have given me the power that comes from YOU to gain the upper hand in JESUS Name.
Amen.
