Do The Good Deeds Of David Part 6
Scripture📖: 2Samuel 24:22‭-‬25 NIV

Thank GOD Its Sunday the Lord’s day!
The LORD has prepared a special Word just for you.
Don’t let the enemy cheat you out of your blessing today.
Yesterday we said,
You must learn to inquire of the LORD always and obey HIS advice and let me hasten to add, ALL THE TIME.
Today we continue with another of David’s deeds that cemented his relationship with God and precipitated an everlasting covenant of Sure Mercies for him.

⏺David sacrificed to God

The bible has many accounts where sacrifices touched GOD and brought HIM into one situation or the other.
But there are sacrifices and there are “sacrifices”.
In 2Samuel 24:22‭-‬25 NIV David’s heart towards sacrifice.
The Bible says,
▶“Let my Lord the king take whatever he wishes and offer it up. Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and here are threshing sledges and ox yokes for the wood. Your Majesty, Araunah gives all this to the king.”
Araunah also said to him, “May the Lord your God accept you.”
But the king replied to Araunah,
“No, I insist on paying you for it. I WILL NOT SACRIFICE TO THE LORD MY GOD BURNT OFFERING THAT COST ME NOTHING.”
So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings.
Then the Lord answered his prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.◀
Davids attitude to sacrifice was, he would not do it if it does not cost him.
You must be prepared to do the same.
I have seen wealthy people give an insignificant fraction of what they own and brag about it. I have seen others who are not so wealthy give something that really cost them even if it meant giving all they had.
I assure you just like with Cain and Abel, GOD knows which sacrifice will warrant an everlasting covenant of the sure mercies of David or not.
May your sacrifice please GOD.
GOD willing we will continue tomorrow in Jesus name.
